Your Consignors' Account Information Online
BCSS Virtual allows your consignors to view their items and account balances online.
BCSS Virtual services and your store's data are hosted on a 'virtual dedicated server' - a fancy name for an upscale computer designed to provide fast and reliable online access to you and your consignors. You can upload your consignor and inventory information to the server from within BCSS and your consignors can access their account information (from anywhere in the world on any device with an Internet connection, including wireless devices like mobile phones).

Virtual Setup
After purchase our customer support will email your store's Site ID and password to you. In BCSS, click on File, Program Setup, General tab. Enter the Site ID and Password in the fields provided and click 'Save/Exit' to save the changes and exit setup.

Uploading Consignor and Inventory Records for the First Time
When uploading data for the first time, it is necessary to upload 1) all consignors who have online access and 2) all inventory items belonging to them.
Test the System First
Before uploading all consignors, their inventory and account balances, upload just 1 or 2 to test the system:

(If you already have several consignor records marked as having online access, please proceed to the next step.)

Confirm that the consignor's information is displayed. If not make sure you are viewing a record of the correct consignor.
Upload All Consignors with Online Access Authorization:
Only consignors with online access will be uploaded.
Upload Inventory:
Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may employ the questionable tactic of 'throttling' upload speed - slowing the upload as it progresses, even to the point of making larger uploads fail. This is done to discourage the use of their bandwidth. (Some ISPs will take their foot off the brake if you let them know you know what they're doing.)
Subsequent Uploading of Records
To save time with larger databases, the number of records uploaded may be reduced by making settings on the Consignor or Inventory Report Screen and leaving those screens open during upload. Only records defined by the report settings will be uploaded.

Example: Click on Reports on the Main Menu. On the Inventory Reports Screen, select a Consignor:

Upload Inventory Records. Only those items belonging to that Consignor will be uploaded.
Daily Updates
Use the Date-In filter to upload new items, then use the Date-Last-Sale filter to update inventory quantities for new sales.
Upload Items Added Today: On the Inventory Report Screen, check Date-In and set a date range for one day:

Upload Inventory Records. Only those items added on the given date will be uploaded.
Upload Today's Sales: On the Sales Report Screen, check Invoice Date and set a date range for one day:

Upload Inventory Records. Only those items sold on the given date will be uploaded.
Update One Consignor
The consignor's online record will be updated (including inventory and account balance). An error message will appear if the store or the consignor is not set up for online access.
Consignor Access to Online Account Information
For each consignor subscribing to your online service, edit his or her BCSS record and check the box named 'Allow Online Access'. Enter consign for the password. An ID Number will be present in the ID field. (It is auto-assigned by BCSS and cannot be changed.)
Give that Number, the Password and your Site ID to the Consignor and instruct him or her to go to http://www.resell4.me, enter his/her ID, Password and your Site ID, and click 'Submit'. A list of consignments will be presented only if items belonging to the Consignor are recorded in the database and have been uploaded.
The Consignor's Account Balance will also be shown. Due to the limitation of the component used in this process, the Account Balance must be shown on each line after each item.
Special Virtual Report
A list of Consignors having Online Access may be viewed on screen or printed out.
Slow Uploads
Please note that BCSS does not determine or affect the speed of the upload. If the upload is running slowly, please check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to see if they can provide a faster Internet connection, or upload from another computer that has a faster connection (like your home computer possibly). ISPs typically provide slower upload than download speeds to save on bandwidth, and they often discourage the uploading of 'larger files' by slowing them down as the upload progresses, even to the point of causing the upload to 'time out' (fail). This practice is rarely disclosed prior to entering into long-term service commitments and it is grounds for breaking a service contract and changing to an ISP with better service.
Please contact your ISP before contacting us about slow upload speeds.
Synchronizing Online Data with Your Computer's Data
When online data doesn't agree with local data, take the time to upload all records for all consignors with online access then check for discrepancies again. Uploads from your computer replace records online. Uploading all records should update all online information.
