BCSS includes the customary buyer 'identifiers': name, ID, city, state, zip, birth date, phone numbers, email address, date of last purchase, etc.
Buyer Demographics
'Demographics' provide an additional way to categorize and group Buyers (for information purposes only. This feature cannot be used to select or group Buyers for such things as printing address labels.)
To add Demographics to a Buyer's Record, select New Buyer or Edit Buyer in the Buyers Work Area...

...then click on Demographics:

The 'demographic categories' are Automobile, Credit Rating, Educational Level, Employer, Income, Interests and 'User Text':

Values may be entered in any of these fields when a Buyer Record is created or edited. Each demographic can have any combination of letters or numbers. Examples:
Adaptation: Use the fields for other purposes. example: Use the 'Automobile' demographic for a size demographic - small, medium, large, extra large, etc. At this time, the names of these fields cannot be changed.
Demographics Reports
Reports can be generated based upon demographic settings or entries.
1. On the Main Menu, select Reports.

Selecting any Demographic will produce a print preview of all buyers grouped by the demographic selected.
2. User Text
Let's assume we have entered 'best' in User Text as descriptors in 3 buyer's records and we want to produce a list which only includes those 3 buyers.
Procedure:
On the Main Menu, select Reports then Buyers.
Enter 'best' (without quotes) in the User Text field.

There are 3 ways to view the report: Print the Report, View the Report and Export to CSV File.
First, select how the list should be sorted (if desired): by Name, Dollar Volume, Date of Last Purchase or Zip Code.
1. Print the Report
Select Print the Report:

A print preview of the report will be displayed. Click the printer button to print:

2. View the Report
Select View the Report in the Main Table. Only those records matching the report settings ('best' in User Text in this example) will appear in the Main Table:

Select Export to CSV File to begin the process of saving the report is .csv (comma-separated value) format:

(Please refer to Windows Help (Start > Help) for information on how to use .csv files. Enter CSV in the Windows Help Search Box.)
A window will open asking for a file name and a location on your PC for saving the output. Make those settings and click Save.
