Print Hang Tags on Sheets of Labels (with BCSS and a Laser-Style Printer)

Hang Tags are printed with Laser-style (not dot matrix) printers. They are non-adhesive, perforated and are available with colored borders.

Adjust Print Position (Hang Tags):

(When adjusting print position, print on blank white sheets of paper. Square the paper and a sheet of labels and hold them up to the light to see where print would have printed on the sheet of labels.)

Use the Margins and Row-Space settings (on the Bar-Code Print-Settings Screen) to properly align print position. (Record the correct settings for future reference.)

Access the Bar-Code Print-Settings Screen by selecting 'Bar Codes on Avery Stock' in the Style Section of the Labels Screen. The margin settings for most laser-style printers are: left .3", top .1", right .5", bottom .5". Row space is 1.04". Rows should be 10 and Columns should be 3. Options on this screen allow printing to start on the next-available label on a partially-used sheet of labels, and to print labels equal in quantity to the number of items in inventory.

Repeat these steps until the labels are printing correctly.

Bar Codes are printed on hang tags by default. If bar codes are not desired, uncheck 'Check this box to include bar codes...' in Program Setup (Printers).

Instructions for printing hang tags are the same as for printing sheets of labels. The difference is that after selecting the items for hang tags, the option to print hang tags is selected:

Hang Tags include Item ID (which is the Consignor ID plus Item #), Category, Description and Price. Options may be selected in Program Setup (Inventory) to include Date In, the Discount Schedule (prices only) and Disposal Codes.
