Pawn Ticket Won't Print

In PPSS, in the upper-left corner click on File then Program Setup. Complete information on these tabs to configure PPSS for your shop. The shop information on the General Screen is the minimum information that must be entered in order for the pawn ticket to print.

To print a pawn ticket PPSS 'reads' a text file named pawn-ticket.txt. The settings and information in the pawn-ticket.txt file tells PPSS what information to place on the pawn ticket and where to place it.

By default PPSS is installed in the PPSS folder under Program Files on the C: Drive (The 'path' to the file will be either C:\PPSS\pawn-ticket.txt or C:\PPSS\pawn-ticket.txt).

Follow these steps to determine the 'path' to where the pawn-ticket.txt file is located on the computer:

1. RIGHT click on the Start Button.
2. Select Explore or Open Windows Explorer.
3. On the left double click on Computer.
4. Double click on C: Drive.

Does the computer show just Program Files, or does it list both Program Files and Program Files(x86)?

• If only Program Files is listed, click on that then click on PPSS. You should see a file named 'pawn-ticket'. (If the computer is set to show file extensions, you should see pawn-ticket.txt.)
• If both Program Files and Program Files(x86) are listed, click on the latter then click on PPSS. You should see a file named 'pawn-ticket'. (If the computer is set to show file extensions, you should see pawn-ticket.txt.)

You now know where pawn-ticket.txt resides on the computer.

If the computer has the x86 folder and the pawn ticket is not printing, we need to change the path (C:\PPSS\pawn-ticket.txt) in PPSS to (C:\Program Files(x86)\pawn-ticket.txt. Here's how:

1. In PPSS, in the upper-left corner, click on File.
2. Click on Program Setup.
3. Click on the colored tab at the top named Pawn Etc.
4. There should be a check in the box:

6. By default the path to pawn-ticket.txt is C:\pawn-ticket.txt.
7. Click on the path (in the box) and place the cursor after 'Files' in 'Program Files'.
8. Type (x86). The entry should now look like this:



9. In the lower-left corner click Save/Exit.
10. Open PPSS.
11. Go to the Work Area for Pawns, Checks, Loans.
12. Select a pawn.
13. On the right click on Print Ticket Button.
