'Retail Items' are usually new items purchased for resale. Use this option to record information about purchased items but not about the seller. Scroll down for instructions for adding retail items.
Resale ('Buy Outright') Items are usually used merchandise purchased for the same purpose. Use this option to record information about sellers and purchased items. (Click here for instructions for adding resale items.
Things to Know
- PPSS is a pawn software program which has been adapted for reselling resale and retail items, therefore, 'Seller' and 'Pawner' are used interchangeably.
Recording Retail Items
Add Retail Items to Inventory
- To enter an item, press F6 (or click on 'Retail New' on the top menu). (The Account ID will be 'House'. The Item Number, next available bar-code number, Quantity, and In Date will be auto-entered.
- Enter as much information as is needed. (As an alternative, click in the Bar-Code field and scan an existing bar code.)
- Check the box named 'Buy This Item Outright' (and note that the 'Fees' field name changes to 'Paid Out'.
- Enter the amount paid for the item in the Paid-Out field.
- If another item is to be added for the same seller, press F4 (Another Item).
- When all items have been entered, click OK to save the record and not print labels; press 'Save, Print Bar Codes' to print thermal price labels; or press 'Save, Preview, Print Pawn Ticket' to print a Resale Ticket.
- Otherwise click 'Cancel' to close the screen and not record the information that was entered.
User-Defined Groups can be used to define inventory items in more detail.
