Updating PPSS

What Does 'Updating' Mean?

Every software program is a work in progress. Improvements are made. 'Bugs' are fixed. Special situations are addressed. 'Updating' means installing the latest version of the software to obtain the most recent improvements.

'Updating' is different from 'upgrading'. The latter means to purchase a higher edition of PPSS (Deluxe, Diamond or 24k) or a higher version of PPSS (like from the original Visual Basic version to the FoxPro version).

Updating PPSS is free, and doing so regularly will keep PPSS fresh on your computer with the latest improvements. Perhaps as often as once per quarter, check the latest updates at http://www.bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com/pawn-software-updates.htm.

Edition and Version #

The software edition and version appear in the upper left corner in PPSS. In this example the edition is Diamond and the version is 5.1.6810:

To Update Your Program:

For Version 5.1.6810 or Higher:

Send an email to Steve Gibson steve@helppro.us with your name, shop name and PPSS edition (Intro, Deluxe, Diamond or 24karat) and a note that you would like to update. Steve will reply with instructions.

For Versions Below 5.1.6810:

In PPSS press the Send-Data Button (upper right) and send an email to Steve Gibson steve@helppro.us with your name, shop name and PPSS edition (Intro, Deluxe, Diamond or 24karat). Include a note that you would like to update.

If it has not been resolved, zip your last data file and send it to zipfiles@mm.st along with your name, shop name, PPSS edition (Intro, Deluxe, Diamond or 24k) the error message(s) (if any) and the actions that produce the error. Please be specific. Tech support will return your files with corrections. Please do not use PPSS until your files are returned to you.
